About
Maggie is a multimedia artist from the Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee. She currently resides in Savannah, GA where she studies painting at SCAD, as well as minors in drawing and production design. Growing up surrounded by mountains, lakes, and rivers has influenced her use of cool colors and organic, fluid shapes in her various works. Being a lifelong endurance athlete gives her a unique perspective on the human body and its capabilities and limitations, which she also studies through her work. Her current studio practice explores the threshold between life and death through imagery of water, a powerful and beautiful source of life capable of destruction. In studying the dynamics of water in relation to the fluid human form, she uses her work to process personal grief and memories and connect to her unconventional way she chooses to live her life. Her work currently shows at Savannah’s Alexander Hall, and she has been a part of group shows with 521 Art Lounge.
