My practice is a response to the blurred lines between comfort and pain. Through my painting, I examine moments where agony and tranquility can exist simultaneously. The body becomes fluid as it flows between peace and suffering, filling both spaces. As I work through the parts of the human experience I find harder to understand, I allow the body to melt into a semi liquid environment, becoming a part of it, or morphing into a new form. My practice allows me to create physical reminders of a universal truth I’ve had to relearn again and again: when we let go of our fears- of failure, of death, of hurt- and find a way to embrace pain with open arms, this is how we move forward and find serenity.
